Todd Bates

July 24, 1963 ~ April 5, 2023

In the afternoon hours of April 5, 2023, Mr. Todd Bates, of Hohenwald, unexpectedly passed away at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville at the age of 59 surrounded by his loving family. Todd was born in Dickson, on July 24, 1963, to Ms. Deanna June Winters Bates and the late Danny Neal Bates.

He leaves behind to carry on his cherished memories his children Zachary Luke Bates, Seth Raleigh Daniel Bates, and Johnathon Bennett Bates; siblings Lisa Bates Lancaster (Brad), Danielle Paige Fields, and Erinn Brooke Bates Ziser (Glenn). Todd also leaves behind his significant other Ms. Ina Matschinski, a nephew Augustus Daniel Lancaster, and a niece Bailey Adalaide Fields.

Todd was well known for his outstanding skills as a car salesman at Parks Motor Sales in Columbia, Tennessee. Many people would repeatedly return to purchase cars just because of him. In fact, he met Ina when she came in looking to purchase a car. He was the one that truly never met a stranger and had the most welcoming smile and greatest sense of humor. With his extremely outgoing personality, there was never a dull moment when he was around! It is no wonder that he was loved by all. Todd and his cousin and good friend Mike O'Brien owned and operated a logging business together and worked together in many other ventures before starting work at Parks Motors. In his spare time, Todd enjoyed anything and everything with the outdoors, from hunting to fishing and even tending to horses. His love of horses started at a young age and eventually landed him the dream opportunity of working for American Horse Trainer D. Wayne Lukas in Louisville, Kentucky at Churchill Downs and South Florida. Todd was also very handy when it came to restoring old cars and was able to sell one of his restorations at Barrett- Jackson Auction Company in Las Vegas. Todd was a proud supporter of our military and showed his patriotic side every chance he got. Even in his extremely busy life he always found the opportunity to take care of himself. He would always be at home working out and was always conscience of the foods he ate, especially his top choice of salmon and chicken dinners.

Visitation with family was on Saturday April 8, 2023, at Bethel Church and Venue at Farmers Exchange. Burial followed at New Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery in Lyles.

Adair Funeral and Cremation Services is assisted the family with arrangements.
