The Lewis County Lady Panther tennis team hosted the Loretto Mustangs and Lady Mustangs on Monday, March 27.
In girls’ singles Ruth Jennings played as Lewis County’s number one seed and faced a tough number one seed from Loretto. Jennings lost service early and ended up dropping the match 8-3. In the two-seed matchup Brooke Mason played for the Lady Panthers and controlled the match as she took the win 8-4. Trinly Greene was the three seed for Lewis County and struggled late in the match before falling 8-3. Mary Halfacre played as the four seed for the Lady Panthers and fell behind in the opening points before losing 8-1. In the five seed game Persia Snow played for Lewis County and also lost service early and failed to come back, dropping the match 8-1.
Ruth Jennings and Mary Halfacre partnered up for the first doubles match and lost service in the early points, dropping the match 8-0. Brooke Mason and Trinly Greene were paired in the second doubles match and fought hard in a close match. The pair lost service midway through the match and went down 8-6.
The Lady Panthers ended the match 1-4 in singles play and 0-2 in doubles.
