The Lewis County Panther tennis team hosted the Loretto Mustangs s on Monday, March 27.
In boys’ singles action Bryson Clayburn took control of the match up of number ones and took the win 8-2. Ethan Powers was the number two for the Panthers and had little trouble with the number two for the Mustangs as he rolled to an 8-1 victory. In the closest matchup of the afternoon Lewis County’s number three Julian Jones went back and forth with the number three from Loretto. Jones was the first to break serve and was able to pull out the win 8-6. Four-seed for the Panthers, Jeremiah Sparks, took a lead in his matchup midway through and went on to take the win 8-4. Gavin Carroll was the five seed for the Panthers and had no problems in his match as he took an 8-0 win.
Bryson Clayburn and Ethan Powers paired up in the first of two doubles matches on the boys’ side. Loretto’s doubles combo broke service early and the Panther duo dropped the match 8-2. Julian Jones and Gavin Carroll were the second doubles grouping for Lewis County and came out on top in their match 8-6.
