Lewis and Clark researcher Charles Crase will discuss the trails used by Lewis and Clark before, during, and post expedition in a presentation to be held at Lewis County Public Library and Archives on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 1 p.m. A number of maps will also be on display.
Charles Crase is the president of the Ohio River Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation and has served on the national board for the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. He has organized and participated in many Lewis and Clark educational events held throughout the United States where his expertise on various aspects of the Lewis and Clark Expedition has been highly praised. This lecture is the third in a series of scholarly presentations and family events scheduled to coincide with “Reimagining America: The Maps of Lewis and Clark” a traveling exhibit on display at the Hohenwald Depot through May 6.
“Reimagining America: The Maps of Lewis and Clark” may be viewed Mondays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lewis County Museum Depot. The exhibit and Lewis and Clark Lecture Series is funded locally in part by a grant from Humanities Tennessee, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities with additional funding being provided local businesses and individuals.
The Lewis County Public Library and Archives’s collection includes an extensive number of resources related to the Lewis and Clark Expedition that may be accessed by the general public, students, and researchers. The library and archives is open 40 hours a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
