Ms. Marie Qualls Marrs, 89,
of Kingston Tennessee, formerly
of Linden, entered eternal rest
on Saturday April 22, 2023 at her
residence. Marie was born in
Perry County to the late James
Franklin and Willie Mae Barham
Qualls.
In 1953, Marie met Elgie William
Marrs in Steele, Missiouri.
They were married on February
11, 1954 in Pemiscot County,
Missiouri. Together they shared
fi fty four years of marriage.
Their union produced fi ve children,
six grandchildren, nine
great-grandchildren and six
great-great-grandchildren.
Marie enjoyed her life as a
devoted wife and mother. She
spent her time caring for her
family and enjoying her hobbies,
gardening, reading, sewing, crocheting,
and being involved in
her grandchildren’s adventures.
In addition to her parents she
is also preceded in death by her
husband Elgie Marrs, a son Edwin
Marrs, sisters Mary, Emma
Nell, Minnie and Fanny and a
brother Roy Qualls.
Remaining to cherish her
memory are her children Branon
Marrs, Bonnie Curtis and
Sharla Bowman all of Hohenwald,
and Rose (Emad) Alkishawi
of Kingston, daughter-in-law
Martha Marrs of Tuscumbia, Alabama,
six grandchildren Kimberly
O’Guin, Adam (Jennifer)
Alkishawi, Kristina (Shannon)
White, Christopher Shelton,
Shayna (Kameron) Whitehead,
and Jakki Bowman, nine
great-grandchildren CJ O’Guin,
Mikaela (Aron) Prieur, Kaisha
(Selena) O’Guin, Todd White,
Luke White, Aiden Alkishawi,
Ava Carol Alkishawi, Ashley
Forrester and Hailey Parchment,
six great-great-grandchildren
Brixyn, Aviana and Bremaria
Prieur, Kane Forrester, Piper Atkinson
and Aspyn O’Guin and a
host of other loving family members
and many friends.
Funeral service was held
Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Young
Funeral Home in Linden, Tennessee.
Interment followed in
Beech Grove Cemetery, Pleasantville
