A & J Steals and Deals Celebrate Grand Re-Opening

A & J Steals and Deals celebrated their grand reopening with a ribbon cutting, Friday May 5, 2023. Several community members joined in to support the local business. A & J Steals and Deals is a locally owned business that brings retail merchandise to the Lewis County community at a discounted price. “We get merchandise,” said owners Ashley & Jonathan Pugh, “from retailers such as Target, Amazon, Kohls, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sam’s and more! We also get wholesale merchandise from a variety of vendors.” The couple says they spend a lot of time searching for the best place to get merchandise to benefit their customers.

The team, previously at the corner or Park and Main, moved to their bigger location on Main across from Rockhouse Coffee Company. “We did this in an effort to expand and bring even more variety to our community. We now have even added a grocery section!” Ashley says one vision, as the owner, was to help other small business owners get their products out to the community in a store front. “So, we created our LOCALS CORNER and consignment clothing corner, which is full of local community members selling their own items. Right now, we have over 20 vendors in the store selling various things.”

Another fun addition the expansion has allowed for is the “snack shack” where you can sit and drink coffee or teas, have some fresh home baked goods or a hot slice of pizza. On Saturday nights, the fun really ramps up with some fierce competition as patrons participate in bidding wars to win their favorite auctioned items. The connected building as been turned into their very popular “Main Street Auction” where live auctions happen on Saturday nights at 6 P.M. And if all that competition makes you hungry, no worries! The auction house has a grill serving up all your concession stand favorites! “Our sellers,” says the couple, “are from all surrounding counties, and even some from out of state. We are excited to be able to bring that to our hometown. We are blessed and honored to continue to invest in our community and give everyone a fun place to shop, eat, and have a really good time.”

A & J Steals and Deals is open Wednesday - Saturday 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
