Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
The 12th Annual Ticked Off At Cancer Ride was held last Saturday May 6, 2023. This year’s ride was in honor and memory of the late Larry Skelton who founded this ride 12 years ago, and the late George (Pineapple) Barber who has always been a big supporter of this ride.
It was a great turn out with 45 motorcycles and 15 vehicles that showed up for the ride hosted by Lewis and Clarke’s Restaurant. Stops included BJ’s Bar and Grill in Lawrenceburg, Barb’s Place in Pulaski, The Rebel Bar and Grill in Columbia, Hillbilly Liquors in Hohenwald, then back to Lewis and Clarke’s Restaurant where a live auction was held and afterwards entertainment by Six Stroke.
The total raised was $17,745.00 for the Lewis County Cancer Victims Fund. The ride committee consisted of Jeff and Sheila Mullins, Travis (SoLo) McKissack II, Brad and Brandy Bates, and Jon Spears.
“Special thanks goes out to Lewis and Clarke’s Restaurant for hosting the ride, Tracie’s Mobile Kitchen for the BBQ, Gina Barber for the potato salad, Sandee Skelton for the baked beans, and Philbert Phillips for the hamburger buns, and Six Stroke for providing the entertainment, everyone that helped gather auction items, donations and helped with the auction, all the businesses, and individuals that donated auction items and cash. City Mayor Danny McKnight for your support every year, Hohenwald Police Department, Lewis County Sheriff Department, and Maury County Sheriff’s Department for getting us through town safely. Most importantly to each and everyone that came out to support this ride which made it such a success,” stated Mullins.
