MLEC Provides Free WiFi Hotspot at Buffalo River Blueway

Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative recently installed a WiFi Hotspot at the Buffalo River

Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative recently installed a WiFi Hotspot at the Buffalo River Public Access Point at Grinders Creek.

The equipment and internet service, which was donated by ML Connect at the request of Lewis County Government, is being provided to improve public safety at this popular summertime location.

“Cell phone service is unreliable in this area, and this hotspot will allow people with WiFi calling phones to make calls or send texts in case of emergencies,” stated Randall Christy, the Lewis County Litter Control Specialist who helps oversee and keep this county-owned property clean.

“I really appreciate everyone at MLEC and ML Connect for making this happen, especially MLEC CEO Keith Carnahan and MLEC District Manager Jason Graves, who were instrumental in this project, along with Lewis County’s MLEC Board Members, Jeff Peery and Bill Webb, for their support,” stated Lewis County Mayor, Jonah Keltner.

“MLEC does much more than just provide excellent electric and affordable internet service to our region, they’ve always been a great partner and a valuable asset to Lewis County, and this is just another example of them giving back to our community,” concluded Keltner.
