Retired Special Forces Green Beret country singer comes to Hohenwald

The Seiber Ridge neighborhood was treated to a live performance by Derek Stoner at a recent birthday celebration. After 24 years in service, MSG Stoner retired from the US Army, and turned to his passion for country music.

While deployed overseas, he taught himself how to play guitar and well, the rest is history. Performing at Nashville honky-tonks led to the release of his first album (EP) in December 2021. He is currently recording for his second album titled ‘Truth’. During the performance, Derek sang songs from top country music artists, as well as a mix of his own songs, that he has written himself. His voice electrified the crowd, bringing dancing feet to his stage, while others sang along to familiar tunes. During the week you can find Derek performing in the Nashville venues such as Tootsie’s, Rippy’s and Kid Rock’s. On weekends, he performs all over the area, to include private performances, as he did out on Seiber Ridge.
