Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Lewis County 4-H Day Camp at NACO was held June 21 & 22nd . We had great time with twenty-five campers, three teen volunteers, five adult leaders and three certified lifeguards in attendance.
On day one Brad Culp with Soil Conservation came and instructed the children on proper fishing techniques. Each camper was provided with their very own fishing pole to take home. We appreciate Mr. Culp for his time, and this work he does with our youth each year.
After fishing the campers had a lesson about healthy snacks, and assisted in making their own fruit and yogurt parfaits for a mid-morning snack. Many games were played throughout the morning before the campers ate their lunch of grilled burgers, hotdogs, chips and dessert. During the two day camp the campers planted flowers, tie-dyed socks and played several outdoor games before engaging in afternoon water activities in the lake.
The second day, campers had a lesson on healthy snacks and enjoyed fruit cups as their morning snack. Lunch was pizza, chips, and dessert. The day was packed full of games and fun for the campers. After the afternoon lake activities, the campers engaged in water frenzy land activities which consisted of water goose and a water ballon toss. The campers also enjoyed an egg toss and many other games such as ga-ga ball, wiffle ball, putt putt golf and the hula hoop challenge.
Special thanks to all of our volunteers and sponsors. Without you all camp would not be possible for this great group of kids!
