One Day at a Time

Series: One day at a time | Story 112

Well it is a nice cool morning here in our little valley. Here on the front porch this morning it is 59 degrees and I am really enjoying my coffee. The cats had a little bowl of warm milk with their breakfast this morning, they have now finished eating their breakfast and they are taking a nap.

This nice weather will not last long, by the middle of this week they are calling for it to be around 100 degrees for a few days. But the hot weather will not last long because Fall is just around the corner.

It has been a busy week, I canned some apples that my neighbor gave me, I will use them to make some fried apple pies when the weather gets cold, this Winter while it is snowing outside they sure will be good with a cup of hot coffee. Bobby has been getting rid of a lot of wasps, there were a lot of nests with lots of wasps on them, and Bobby has also been getting rid of a lot of ants, he has been spraying them and putting out traps but they have been really hard to kill this year.

We walked down by the creek and there are mushrooms everywhere, there are mushrooms of all different sizes and shapes and colors, there are so many of them it is hard to avoid stepping on them, I have never seen so many before, but there are a lot of things happening now a days that I have never seen or heard of before. With all these unusual things happening I sure feel a need to pray more than ever, but praying more is a good thing, lately I really have kept in touch with the Lord.

Most of the gardens are almost gone but I think most everyone ended up having good gardens this year. Thank everyone that brought us some of their fresh vegetables, we really enjoy the red ripe tomatoes and the squash and everything, and thank everybody for the good country eggs, Bob just loves an egg sandwich with a big slice of tomato on it.

We were out running errands the other day and we saw a lot of hay fields being cut and we seen big fields of corn and big fields of soybeans, it seems people are having success during the last part of this Summer.

We went to get our groceries and I was really surprised, in the stores that we went to the shelves were really stocked with everything, there were a lot of fruits and vegetables, I did not see any shortages and there were very few empty spots, but just about all the prices had gone up. There were a lot of people shopping, I got what I needed and made all my stops and then I came back home.

Bobby washed the porches and Bob worked some in the yard and I got some cleaning done on the inside, it will not be long before we will be giving all the windows one last good cleaning for the year and we will start getting ready for Fall, it has been an unusual Summer to me, now I wonder what this Fall and Winter will be like.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless.
