October 26, 1950 - September 17, 2023

Generalle Waine "Gene" Raymer passed away on September 17, 2023, in Centerville, Tennessee. Born in Morgantown, Kentucky, on October 26, 1950, to Uda Sylvester Raymer and Gypsy Verline Miller Raymer, Gene lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family and country.

A proud Army veteran, Gene served his country with honor and integrity. His service was a significant part of his identity. Gene was a man of the outdoors; hunting and fishing with his family were cherished moments for him. His love for these activities was only surpassed by his love for his family, whom he treasured above all else. A man of faith, Gene's belief in God guided him throughout his life. He found strength in his faith, which comforted him in difficult times and inspired him to live a life of purpose and meaning.

Known for his generosity, Gene was always ready to lend a helping hand or give what he could to those in need. He believed in the power of kindness and the importance of community, often saying that God put him here to give to others, not to take. Gene touched countless lives with his generosity. He began his career as a construction worker, but his skills surpassed just construction. Gene could build anything and found a great hobby in woodworking.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his brothers, Leon Raymer and Charles Raymer; sister, Justine Voorhies and two grandchildren, Stephanie Carroll and Jacob Tenison.

Gene leaves behind his children, Tonia (Dale) Carroll, Kimberly Powell, and Jeremy (Jessie Mullins) Raymer; sister, Christine Stayrook; brothers, David (Judy) Raymer, Sr. and David (Annette) Raymer, Jr.; grandchildren, Miles (Myra) Tenison, Preston Powell, Brantley Raymer, River Carroll, Braylon Raymer and Grayson Raymer; great-grandchildren, Riplyn Tenison and Knoxleigh Tenison; along with many nieces, nephews, as well as numerous other family and friends.
