Linda D. (Wills) Grinder

Linda D. Grinder, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, in Centerville. Born on November 19, 1940, in Dickson, to the late Winfrey and Geneva Wills, Linda was a beacon of kindness and love who touched countless lives throughout her 82 years.

Linda was the cherished wife of the late Eugene "Coach" Grinder, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and treasured memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, instilling in their daughter a strong sense of values, and a loving spirit. Linda is survived by her devoted daughter Cindy (Mickey) Bailey, her beloved grandchildren Dixie Jamison and Brandon Scott, and her adored great-grandchildren Piper and Bentley. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Known for her unwavering commitment to education, Linda served as a Pre-K teacher at the Lewis County TN School District. She was passionate about her work and dedicated her career to shaping young minds. Her warm smile and encouraging words made her a favorite among both students and colleagues. She had a unique ability to recognize the potential in every child and was steadfast in her belief that every student deserved a chance to succeed.

Beyond her professional life, Linda was an accomplished pianist and organ player. Her love for music was infectious. Linda also had a soft spot for animals, particularly rabbits.

As a woman of deep faith, Linda found great fulfillment in teaching bible studies at the local jail. Her kindness and compassion extended beyond her immediate community, as she worked tirelessly to provide to those who needed it most.

In every aspect of her life, Linda exemplified the virtues of kindness and love. She possessed a rare ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

We remember a woman who lived her life with purpose, passion, and a deep love for others. She was a beacon of light in our community. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hope Center of Hohenwald in Mrs. Linda's honor.
