Lewis Health Center to Offer Walk-in Mammography Screenings

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lewis Health Center will offer walk-in Wednesday mammography screenings Oct. 18 and Nov. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. to provide convenient access for women. No appointment is required.

Approximately one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. The best defense against breast cancer is early detection. Lewis Health Center recommends all women who are 40 or older — or earlier for those with a family history of breast cancer or certain risk factors — receive a screening mammogram each year.
