Public Assistance Requested in Animal Shooting Investigations

On the morning of October 11th, The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department received multiple complaints of animal cruelty in the area of Longbranch Road where a horse was shot and killed and Rockhouse Road where a cow was shot and injured.

Criminal investigators responded with Lewis County deputies, and a Code Red warning was sent out through the Hohenwald 911 system which led to the discovery of another animal, a dog, being shot and killed in the Metal Ford Road area. There are similarities that have linked the three cases, and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department is asking for your help, “if anyone sees anything out of the ordinary on this night, they are urged to contact the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department or Brad Lawson. Even if you think it’s nothing, it may help us to catch this person.”
