Kenneth William Mauck

Kenneth William Mauck, 87, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, in Columbia. Born on August 1, 1936, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late William and Pearl Light Mauck and brother to the late Roger Mauck.

Kenneth was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Sibyl Delaine Shelton Mauck. Together, they raised three children, Pamela (Robert) Bistolfi, Doran Mauck, and Christopher Mauck. He was a proud grandfather to Chandler Dyer, Cassandra Dyer, and Amanda Mauck. His great- grandchildren, Elijah Dyer, Sophia Dyer, Palmer Willis, River Dyer, and Charlie Jernigan brought him much joy in his later years.

Kenneth was a 1962 graduate of the University of Virginia where he earned a bachelor's degree in education. His love for learning and education was evident in his lifelong commitment to community service. He worked in the Sears management program for over 30 years, where his leadership skills were highly valued. Kenneth was also a proud veteran, serving in the United States Airforce.

Beyond his professional life, Kenneth was deeply involved in various organizations that reflected his values and interests. He founded the Methodist Men Club of Hohenwald, and was an active member of the Rotary Club, the Red Cross, United Way, the Boys Club, and the Jr Achievement Club. He also served on the school board for St. Joseph Catholic School in Florida and was a respected member of the Jackson, Tennessee Chamber of Commerce.

Kenneth was an avid scratch golfer; he was so proud of his Hole-In-One that was witnessed and reported.

He loved relaxing at and canoeing the Buffalo River. His love for sports was rooted in his youth, where he was a superstar athlete. Kenneth cherished his grandchildren, always eager to visit with them and share stories He found comfort and peace living in the small, quiet community of Hohenwald, which reminded him of his home in West Virginia.

Kenneth's dedication to his family, his commitment to service, and his passion for life will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
