Well it is a cool morning here in our little valley. We got that much needed rain, now it is really beginning to feel like Fall. Almost all the leaves are gone off the trees here in our yard.
The cats were really hungry this morning and they got their bowl of warm milk and now they are really enjoying the warm sunshine.
We had to have a little heat on this morning, but we did not build a fire in the old wood heating stove.
We have had a busy week, we got some more of our Christmas decorations up, we are not going to put up as much as we used to but it sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. They are already playing Christmas music on the Dish satellite.
Bob is doing much better, he and I went to the doctor and got a good check up, but of course we always feel better after we see Dr. Kamal, he and all the nurses always take good care of us and spoil us, Thank you and everyone there for taking care of us and we all love y’all.
Bob has now got the kitchen clean and we are having our coffee. Bob has been keeping all the leaves swept off the porch and Bobby has got the yard raked and everything sure looks better.
We were out the other day and I saw quiet a bit of Christmas decorations going up in town, I always look forward to seeing all the lights in the evenings, Bobby drives us around and through the park to see the lights, they are always so pretty.
It has been a good week, we had company, our daughter Linda, came from Columbia and ate lunch with us, she just recently retired so we will be seeing more of her, of course we had some of her favorite things to eat, a big pot of brown beans and a pan of good brown cornbread, I also made her a big pan of my cathead biscuits to take home with her for later.
We have got some more of our outside work done and we have got some more windows washed. We will be working on putting up more Christmas decorations, we try to have most everything done before Thanksgiving day.
The cats have gone for the day to go rest and hunt and play. They always come back up at suppertime, now that the days are getting shorter and it is getting dark earlier each day, they have been coming to the house for supper earlier, by the time it gets good and dark on these cool earlier Fall nights they are ready for their warm beds and blankets.
Before long I will be able to turn on my Christmas lights and build a warm fire in the old wood heating stove and make a big pot of homemade soup and wait for the snow to fall, wintertime is coming.
I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God bless,
Evelyn “E.T.” Trevathan
