Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
October 14, 1965 - December 21, 2023
Carla Faye Murphy, age 58, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2023, at her home in Hohenwald, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 14, 1965, in Waynesboro to James Claude Carroll and Dorothy Faye Cate Carroll.
Carla was the owner of Jellybean Junction. She was proud to be "Nana" to all over her beloved daycare babies. She was proud to play a part in their lives.
Carla put God first in everything she did. She worshipped with Central Christian Fellowship whenever her health allowed. She had a gift for cooking, and her family especially adored her fried pies - an expression of love on a plate. Carla's garden was a reflection of her nurturing nature, and she found joy in learning the art of quilting with her mother.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, James Claude Carroll and her sisters, Clara Goodman, Dolly Gray, and Claudia Kelley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Danny Murphy; her mother, Dorothy Carroll; her children, Jessica (Chris) Shupiery and Jason (Rachel) Ballew; her siblings, Jamie (Paul) Willis and Jerry (Leah) Carroll; two grandchildren, Case and Lowen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carla's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her generosity and love. Her spirit will continue to be a guiding light for all blessed to know her. Those who knew Carla would say, if anyone deserved heaven, it was her. She is finally at peace in her Heavenly home.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home Friday, December 22 with Chris & Delana Bean officiating. Burial followed in Loveless Cemetery.
McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Murphy family during this time.
