The LCHS Lady Panthers and Panthers traveled to Centerville to face the Hickman County Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs on Friday, December 1st.

In the opening game of the evening the Lady Panthers fell behind early as the Lady Bulldogs took a 13-6 lead in the opening period. Hickman County would continue to control the game in the second, scoring the first six points of the period and building a 23-12 lead at halftime. The Lady panther offense struggled to get on track in the third as the Lady Bulldogs continued to build their lead and secured a 39-17 lead as the game moved into the fourth quarter. Hickman County would pull away to a 55-25 win. Jazalyn Conner led the Lady Panthers with 8 points, Blayr Clayton and Haylee Carroll each had 6, Aryn Shepherd added 3 points, and Emery Norris had 2.

The Panthers and the Bulldogs took the floor following the girls game, and the teams hit the floor running. The first half was a fast paced, back and forth battle as the teams matched baskets in a tight first and second quarter. The game was tied at 29 when the teams left the floor at halftime. The pace continued to be fast into the second half with neither team slipping, but the Bulldogs were able to secure a late lead and take the win at home over the Panthers 66-60. Dakota Hull was high point man for Lewis County in the loss with 20 points, Bo Banks added 10, Kobe Feichtinger and Moddox Tanner each had 9, Phenix McDonald and Julian Jones each had 5, and Jaxon Fite had 2.

The Lady Panthers and Panthers traveled to Collinwood for games against the Collinwood Lady Trojans and Trojans on Monday, December 4th.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Trojans squared off in the first game of the night, and the teams played a tight opening quarter. Collinwood opened up the lead late and held a 17-12 lead moving into the second period. The Lady Trojan offense blew up in the second, outpacing the Lady Panthers 29-7 in the quarter and taking control of the game with a 46-19 lead as the teams went in at halftime. Collinwood picked right back up in the third as they continued to assert themselves on offense and pulled out to a 69-28 lead heading into the fourth. With a running clock the Lady Trojans scored the only basket in the period and came away with a 71-29 win. Klayr Shepherd had 9 points for the Lady Panthers in the loss, Haylee Carroll added 6, Aryn Shepherd and Gabii Ortiz each had 4, Blayr Clayton added 3, and Jayden Moore 2.

The Panther offense was clicking from the tip in Collinwood. Lewis County jumped out in front of the Trojans with a 23-point opening quarter, and held a 23-15 lead after eight minutes of play. The pace slowed in the second but the Panthers continued to add to their lead and went into the half up 40-22. Collinwood would fight back in the third. The Trojans would cut into the Panther lead behind a 20-16 third quarter and the Panthers held on to a 56-42 lead moving to the fourth quarter. The teams played an even fourth and the Panthers took the win 70-56. Dakota Hull finished with 20 points to lead the Panthers, Maddox Tanner added 19, Bo Banks 9, Drew Ray 8, Kobe Feichtinger 5, Julian Jones 4, Phenix McDonald 3, and Jaxon Fite 2.

The Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Wayne County Lady Wildcats and Wildcats on Friday, December 8th.

In a rematch from earlier in the season, the Lady Panthers and Lady Wildcats took the floor to open Friday night’s action. The Lady Wildcat pressure defense caused problems for Lewis County from the tip. Wayne County jumped out in front with a 26-5 first quarter. The Lady Panther defense improved in the second quarter as they held the Lady Wildcats to 15 points, but the big first quarter helped the visitors take a 41-12 lead in at halftime. Wayne County came out on fire again in the third as they outpaced the home team 21-8 in the third and held a 62-20 lead as play moved to the final eight minutes. With a running clock in the fourth quarter the Lady Wildcats outscored Lewis County 4-0 to take a 66-20 win. Paisley Kellogg led the Lady Panthers with 7 points, Haylee Carroll added 6, Klayr Shepherd had 3, and Blayr Clayton and Jazalyn Conner each had 2 points.

The Panthers and Wildcats locked into a tight, physical matchup in the second game of the evening. Wayne County used hot shooting over the first half, combined with the Panther struggles on offense, to take a 38-25 lead in at the half. The Panthers began to chip away at the Wildcat lead in the third quarter as the Panthers outscored the Wildcats 20-16 to make it a 54-45 game moving to the fourth quarter. The Wildcats would fend off the Panthers in the fourth as the teams played an even period and the Panthers took the loss 71-62. Dakota Hull finished with 23 for the Panthers, Bo Banks added 13, Maddox tanner 10, Kobe Feichtinger 5, Drew Ray and Julian Jones 4 each, and Phenix McDonald 3.

The LCHS Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Collinwood Lady Trojans and Trojans on Tuesday, December 12th.

The Lady Panthers and Lady Trojans squared off for the second time in a week, and much like the first matchup the two teams played a close opening quarter before Collinwood pulled away in the final moments and took a 17-11 lead into the second quarter. Collinwood’s offense would take over in the second as they outpaced Lewis County 23-8 in the period and took a 40-19 lead into the halftime break. Lewis County’s offense struggled in the third quarter as they were held to only 4 points while the Lady Trojans added to their lead and held a commanding 59-23 lead as play moved into the fourth quarter. With a running clock in the fourth each team added 2 to their total as the Lady Trojans took a 61-25 victory. Lewis County was led by Blayr Clayton with 15 points, Klayr Shepherd added 6, and emery Norris and Paisley Kellogg each had 2.

In a slower paced opening for the boys’ game the Panthers and Trojans exchanged baskets and the Panthers held a slim lead at 12-11 at the end of the first. Collinwood would build momentum over the second period and outscored Lewis County 19-11 in the period to take a 30-23 lead in at halftime. Lewis County would respond after the break. The Panthers would fight back in the third behind a 14-11 effort and pull the score to 41-37 heading into the fourth. The Panthers continued to battle back and pulled even at 52-52 at the end of regulation. The Panthers would control the overtime period and come away with a 62-58 win. Dakota Hull, Bo Banks, and Kobe Feichtinger each had 10 points in the win, Drew Ray and Phenix McDonald each had 8, Maddox Tanner and Julian Jones had 6 each, and Jaxon Fite had 4.

The Lady Panthers and Panthers traveled to Hampshire to take on the Hampshire Lady Hawks and Hawks on Thursday, December 14th.

The Lady Panthers opened up the action with a fast paced first quarter as 5 different players scored in the games first eight minutes and Lewis County took a 21-13 lead into the second quarter. The Lady Panther offense cooled off in the second as Hampshire was able to chip into the Lewis County lead and the Lady Panthers went in at the half holding on to a 29-22 lead. After the break Lewis County got back on track as they outscored the host 21-10 in the third quarter and claimed a 50-32 lead as play moved to the fourth quarter. Hampshire would outscore Lewis County 19-15 over the final quarter, but it was not enough as the Lady panthers took the win 65-51 Haylee Carroll led the Lady Panthers in the win with 16 points, Klayr Shepherd and Ruth Jennings each had 10, Blayr Clayton and Gabii Ortiz each had 8, Aryn Shepherd and Jazalyn Conner 4 points each, Paisley Kellogg 3, and Emery Norris 2.

The Panthers and Hawks opened up the second game with a blistering pace. In an up and down opening eight minutes the Panther were able to pull ahead to a 20-16 lead. The second quarter saw the Panthers take control of the game on both ends of the floor as Lewis County pulled ahead and built a 38-23 lead at halftime. The Panthers never came off the throttle as they continued to limit Hawk opportunities in the third, holding the Hawks to only 3 points in the period and jumped out to a 53-26 lead as play moved to the fourth. Lewis County would cruise through the fourth quarter on their way to a 66-33 win. Dakota Hull ended with 13 points, Ryan Tanner added 12, Bo Banks had 10, Kobe Feichtinger and Maddox tanner each had 7, Julian Jones 5, Jaxon Fite and Tucker Jones 3 each, and Caiden Miller and J.D. Wood 2 points each.

The Lady Panthers and Panthers closed out the first half of their schedule at home on Thursday, December 21st as they hosted the Camden Lady Lions and Lions.

The Lady Panthers opened the game up struggling to find the basket, a theme that would trouble them the entire night. The Lady Lions jumped on Lewis County early and held a 17-8 lead after eight minutes of play. Lewis County’s defense responded in the second, limiting the visitors to only 10 points in the period, but the offense was unable to convert on their end and Camden went into the break with a 27-15 lead. The third quarter was another good defensive period for Lewis County as the visitors we limited to only 12, but the Lady Panthers were unable to capitalize and Camden took a 39-23 lead into the final quarter. Camden would cruise to a 51-27 win over Lewis County. Jazalyn Conner had 10 points to lead the Lady Panthers, Blayr Clayton, Klayr Shepherd, and Ruth Jennings each had 4, Gabii Ortiz 3, and Emery Norris 2.

The Panthers and Lions played a tight opening quarter, matching baskets over the first eight minutes with Lewis County holding a slim lead at 17-16 moving to the second quarter. The Lions would take advantage of the Panther’s offensive struggles in the second quarter as Camden outscored Lewis County 21-13 in the period and held a 37-30 lead at halftime. While the Panther offense was able to get back on track after halftime, the Lions continued to have offensive success. The Lions added to their lead in the third quarter behind a 21-17 effort and built their lead to 58-47 as play moved to the fourth quarter. The Lions would have their biggest scoring quarter of the night down the stretch and cruised to an 82-62 win. Dakota Hull finished the night with 25 points for the Panthers, Bo Banks added 14, Drew Ray had 8, Kobe Feichtinger 5, Jaxon Fite 4, and Julian Jones and Sam Moore each had 3.
