Dorothea Gertrude Kauffman, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023, in Columbia, at the age of 95. Born on November 14, 1928, in Hooksett, New Hampshire, to Raymond Bertrum King and Dora Lucy LeFleur.
Dorothea's journey alongside her beloved husband, Walter Irvin Kauffman, who predeceased her, was marked by a life of travel and resilience as they navigated the challenges of military life. With Walter's service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, Dorothea's adaptability and strength were evident as she made homes for her family across the globe, including 14 years in Saudi Arabia and 18 months in Tehran, Iran. She is survived by her son, Ken (Lisa) Kauffman and 5 grandchildren, Keith (Holly) Kauffman, Shannon Kauffman, Roxanne (Dale) Bennett, Blake Kauffman & Taylor Kauffman, and 5 great-grandchildren, Chandler, Kade, Amyiah, Kyle and Glorianna, who brought immense joy to her later years.
