Talking about Tennessee weather this past week has really been in sync with it reputation. We had days where the temperatures were in the upper fifties for a day and then thundershowers for two or three days with high winds. No damage that I know of except trees and limbs down all over everywhere. Then on Sunday the temperatures began with the twenties but by evening it was dropping and by 4:30 it had begun to snow and by the time we got our of church a little before six it was white and temperatures had dropped to 23 degrees. We made it home without any problems but if you must be out please be careful, especially on the back roads. Monday morning there was still light snow with accumulation of about three inches on the ground with temperatures in the teens and below.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Joyce Barnes, Kenneth and Vikie Bates, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Gertie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Robert and Pat Dickson, Ophelia Green, Darrell Hinson, Wanda Holloway, Debbie Johnston, Florine Johnston, Bobby Kilpatrick, Denny King, Monette King, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Brittany Mash, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Joy Orman, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Harry Runions, Louies “Lu Lu” Runions, Johnnie Faye Skelton, Terry Stutts, Jeff Tatum, Diane Williams, Doug Williams, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others who are sick and suffering from some ailments.

We wish a happy Samatha White and Betty Carroll the 20th, and Marlene Kirk and Ethan Webb the 22nd, we wish for all these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Bill and Evelyn Seiber on January 22nd, wishing many more years for them to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about Robert Lee Dickson, Ricky Brown, John Michael Barber, Orpha Ann Easley, Orlean Ophelia Bauman, Lillie Heaster Loafman, Terry Wayne Tresp, Judy Ray Bennett, and Lois Lincoln Vann. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

Pray for those whose jobs require them to be out in this weather to help others and keep the roads safe. I can relate to this because my father worked for the state and during the winter there were times when they were out for days at a time with little sleep and catching a nap when they could sometimes my mom would fix breakfast for the crew he worked with. Remember also those who have livestock for they have to be fed and be sure there is water for them.

If there are those you know who are elderly and who live alone check on them when you can even if it is a phone call to be sure they are doing okay and have what they need. Praying for all who need help during this weather for it seems it will be around for a few days and keep people from getting our and doing the things they need to.

I know the children are anxious to be out and play but with the temperatures in the single digits or even a little above that it is dangerous for them to be out too long and be sure when they come in they get dry clothes and warm up and even a cup of hot chocolate will help to warm them. I pray our power does not go off for then it would be very bad for everyone just about depends on electric for heat and some for water.
