Horse Rescue

A concerned citizen in the Peters Road area of Lewis Couny was worried about a neighbor's horses being malnurished when he saw 5 animals, including two colts, that appeared to not have available food.

During the cold spell with temperatures consistantly below freezing, the animals were standing in mud. A single bale of hay seen before the snow fall was gone and the pen was devoid of grass.

A call to the Lewis County Sheriff Department brought Deputy Todd Webb out to look. Webb stated that the property owner was currently incarcerated but a daughter was suppopsed to be tending the livestock. He...
