Doris Faye Barrett

Doris Faye Barrett, better known as Dot, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, in Manchester, at the age of 85. She was born on March 9, 1938, in Lawrenceburg, to the late Earl Rawdon and Pauline (Crowe) Couch.

Dot dedicated her professional life to the art of beauty as a cosmetologist. She took delight in making others feel their best. Dot was always well put together and never missed an opportunity to have her nails done, reflecting her belief in taking pride in one's appearance.

Dot enjoyed cooking for her family. Sharing meals and spending time around the dinner table was a source of joy and comfort for her.

Dot's boundless love and generosity knew no limits. She was a person who genuinely loved everyone and she was loved by all. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those she touched. The nursing staff, who cared for her in her final days, expressed that they were better for having known her. Her love, kindness, and warmth will forever be remembered.

In addition to her parents, Earl Rawdon and Pauline Couch, she is preceded in death by her brother, Harlan Rawdon.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Wendell Kevin Casteel and Darren Cabot Casteel; her siblings, Bob Rawdon (Georgia), Carlene (Rex) Reed, Betty (Larry) Harris, Ronnie (Donna) Couch, and Donnie (Pat) Couch; grandchildren, Andrew Cabot (Benjamin) Casteel, Danielle Nicole Casteel, Wendell Seth (Jess) Casteel, and Candice Brook (Todd) Flippo; and nine great-grandchildren.

There are currently no services scheduled for Dot.

McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving Ms. Barrett's family.
