We’re reminded; the Founders concluded our Constitution would only work for a religion and moral population. Many choose biblical stories, popular to recite, that others admire and applaud. Famously is the “good samaritan” exploit. It’s easy to claim our moral participation from afar, while invoking guilt upon others. The entire world has become our samaritan call, even though this was based on a local appeal while people were on foot. The “foot washing” gesture presents a humble picture, but in today’s shoes, its a bit of nonsense. Open sandals on dusty terrains, feet were usually filthy. For today’s good deed,it might impart more to wield that bar of soap to one’s own mouth. Another scriptural “comfort thought” derives from the Lot promise. If there could be found “one good man”, the city would be spared. Don’t depend on that same count for today’s wrath meter. Just as a drunkard never admits his problem, neither would some admit wrath could be affecting the world currently. If it was we’d know it. Show us something believable. Surely we can handle this amount of tragedy with phones and texts. It’s all dependent on DEI. A self righteous goal is to achieve zero collateral damage. Trust and just imagine us, directing those who prefer to fight back.
