Panthers finish Runner Up in Tournament Play

After suffering their first loss of the season to Whitthorne Middle School the Panthers would return to attention to end the season in tournament play Thursday and Friday in Waynesboro.

In the semi-final match the Panthers would face Sacred Heart Catholic School Lions. Sacred Heart would strike first in the match. After a long back and forth defensive battle the Panthers would even the score with a goal from #6 Aaron Gomez. However, the second half would be all defense with the score tied at the end of regulation, the teams would face off in the best of 5 penalty kicks to decide the winner. With goals from #6 Aaron Gomez, #22 Ryker Wade, #27 Henry Sharp, along with stellar goalie play from #21 Sammie Aguilar the Panthers would win the match to advance to the final against host team and defending champion Waynesboro Wildcats.

The Panthers would fall to the Wildcats 2-1 in the championship round with #22 Ryker Wade scoring the Panthers lone goal. #27 Henry Sharp would take home the award for All Tournament Midfielder.

Though it is not the outcome desired, there is no denying this inaugural seasons success. Finishing 2nd in district in the program's first season is an amazing feat.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on making this season exciting. You showed what Panther Pride is all about.
