and reopening- Walmart held a Grand Reopening after extensive work inside the store. Updates were in toys, garden center, pharmacy, check-out, mens section, home goods, deli. On hand for the occasion were members of the American Legion, Lewis County High School band and cheerleaders, and many community members. Also, annual donations to local organizations were handed out with $5,000 going to Davis House, $2,000 to Hope Hohenwald and $2,000 to High School Trap Booster Club. Upon entering the store, a large mural is visible, created by Josie Crews , formerly of Hohenwald.
New signage, fixtures and LED lighting throughout the entire store to improve accessibility and create an easier shopping experience
Updated departments, including Garden Center, Pet Supplies department, Deli and more
New merchandise, including nursery furniture, kids' bedding, luggage and more
Expanded pharmacy with two additional registers and a new private screening room for pharmacist consultations and services
A new mural that reflects the culture and community of Hohenwald, created by local artist Josie Crews
Hohenwald's store transformations are a part of Walmart's Signature Experience, which seeks to inspire customers and elevate their in-store experience. These upgrades include:
Activated corners: Exciting displays featured at the corners of certain departments to pull customers in and help them touch, feel and become a part of the space, allowing them to discover all that Walmart has to offer.
Elevated departments: Transformed stores feature displays showcasing products that are out of their boxes so customers can imagine them fitting into their daily lives.
More space to discover: Walmart has purposefully created more space for customers to explore and discover the breadth and depth of what their local store has to offer.
Digital touchpoints: These new touchpoints located throughout the store will help to communicate to customers the vast range of products and services Walmart offers online through the use of QR codes and digital screens.
For example, in Walmart's Pets area, a customer may scan the QR code to find additional dog bed options, learn about Walmart's pet insurance service options or have a 20-pound bag of kibble delivered to their door.
In addition, Hohenwald Walmart customers will save time and money by shopping when, where and how they want using Walmart Pickup, delivery services and Walmart Pay, a touch-free way to pay.
