The blackberry bushes have really been blooming and so maybe there will be lots of berries this year. I think spring has really sprung as the temperatures at night have been in the sixties and daytime in the eighties most days. The wind seems like it is colder than the temperature, but I guess that is because it has been blowing so hard.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Elizabeth Boggs, Gertie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Mary Ann Churchwell, Robert and Pat Dickson, Paula Dyer, Katy Garner, Ophelia Green, Betty Hasty, Darrell Hinson, Wanda Holloway, Denny King, Monette King, Lillie Mitchell, Greg McCann, Helen McCann, Brittany Mash, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Joy Orman, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Eddie Prince, Harry Runions, Marsha Runions, Russell Runions, Lewis Schultz, Johnnie Faye Skelton, Ann Spencer, Terry Stutts, Jeff Tatum, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others who are sick.

We wish a happy birthday to Walter Mears May 2nd, Jamie Spears the 5th, Donna Owen, Wayne Holloway and Brandon Morris the 6th, Gary Graham, Loyd Alan War4f, Tommy Tiller, and Wanda Barber the 7th, and ‘baylee Baxter and Wilda Risner the 9th, and. Wishing for all these and anyone I missed a very happy birthday and many more.

Prayers for all those families who lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about Phillip Alan Hazlett, Ronald Bryon Hazlett, Connie Lorraine Daniel Warren, Anela Gail Whitsett Dixon, Billy Ray Hinson, Bradley Jack Lawson, Glen Coleman Hinson, April Nicolette Rhinehart, Lorene “Dee” Baker Nance, Billy Wayne Cannon, Jeremy Mitchell Bruce, Gary Wayne Pack, Gracie Lee Davidson, and Opal Ruth Staggs. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

The Girl Scouts are now registering for the 2024-2025 year, if you would like to register your daughter go to “GSmidtn.org” and you can find how to register for the new year or contact any leader and they will be glad to help you.

The Lewis County Historical Society will be having a meeting on May 6, 2024, at 6 pm at the Senior Citizen building. Matt Stoll will be presenting a program. I think you will enjoy this and learn about all the things they are doing in the area. Please make plans to attend.

Wishing everyone a happy and blessed week and remember the GYIDE Fish fry the 4th, and the Spring Fest also on the 4th, and the event at the high school to benefit Wanda Holloway who is suffering from cancer and treatments, it will be Sunday 11:30 plates are $10. Get lunch and help a wonderful woman and her family.
