EMS Celebrates Completion of New Station with Ribbon Cutting

New Ambulance Station Opens in Lewis County

Lewis County Government and Maury Regional Health held an Open House on May 23 at their brand-new Ambulance Station, located at 117 Kittrell Street in Hohenwald.

This significant investment of approximately $150,000 aims to enhance emergency medical services in the community, and help ensure the highest level of care for Lewis County residents.

The new EMS Station for ambulance personnel, funded with no local tax dollars, was equipped by Maury Regional. The unit is over 2,000 square feet, and consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large office, along with a spacious living room, kitchen and dining area, and utility room.

The new facility will provide EMS personnel with an area to complete paperwork, file reports and undergo training, as well as offer them a private, comfortable place to rest and recover from tough calls and long, grueling shifts.

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony also took place to celebrate the tireless efforts of all those involved in making this project a reality. Attending the event were several EMS personnel, along with community leaders, government officials, and residents of the local community.

Hohenwald native and Maury Regional Advance Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Kenny King, was given the honor of cutting the ribbon at the event. Mr. King is the longest tenured EMS worker in Lewis County with over 37-years of service to our community.

"I really appreciate the support and collaboration of everyone who made this project possible, including our County Commissioners, the leadership at Maury Regional, and of course, our wonderful EMS workers," stated Lewis County Mayor Jonah Keltner. "This new Ambulance Station is a testament to the commitment we all have to provide the best emergency medical services possible to Lewis County."
