Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Sheriff Dwayne Kilpatrick, Chief Deputy Matt Tiller, and Jail Administrator Josh Keltner are proud to announce the new Lewis County Jail Facility passed its surprise state inspection with no deficiencies found.
"I'm proud of our team here and all the hard work they've done to make sure this new expansion is successful and protects local taxpayer's investment in the facility." Sheriff Kilpatrick stated, "They have worked very hard to bring this facility up to operational standards needed for our community and this new facility."
Jail Facilities throughout the state are required to go through these inspections to ensure Correctional Officers are maintaining their job duties and that the facility is safe and secure for inmates. This is the first inspection the new jail facility has gone through since officially opening in late summer of last year.
"All of our CO's go through extensive training which is needed in order to pass an inspection like this one." Jail Administrator Josh Keltner added, "We didn't know when they would be here, but we were ready because of our excellent staff who keep this community safe every day by working in the jail facility. We're proud of what we do and intend to keep delivering the best for Lewis County."
Chief Deputy Matt Tiller added, "We're striving every day to improve our office with the professionalism Lewis County needs and deserves. We look forward to future to passing future jail inspections with no issues."
