Animalogy at Library

Attendees at the Lewis County Public Library and Archive's "Adventure Begins at your Library: Exploring Lewis County" summer reading event on June 7th had the opportunity to learn about various animals with Shauna from Animalogy. The presentation covered arachnids, including a tarantula and a scorpion, as well as a legless lizard that surprised the audience with its snake-like appearance and interactive nature. Interesting facts were shared, such as the ability of some animals to regrow their tails in dangerous situations. Billy the Fruit Bat, the oldest animal educator present, captivated the crowd with his unique skills. The event also featured a coatimundis, a relative of the raccoon, and a five-month-old pygmy black goat named Juliette.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Shauna and Animalogy for sharing their knowledge and animal companions with us, as well as a special thank you to Citizens Bank for their support in making this event possible.

The next family event will be the Story Book Walk on Friday, June 14 at 10 AM in Memorial Park. To find out more about Summer Reading events visit lewislibrary.readsquared.com, or contact the Lewis County Public Library and Archives at 931-796-5365.
