Lewis County Jr Pro season to begin soon

If you have a child interested in learning the basics of football or cheerleading we’d love to have them join our pack! Football players between the age of 5 and 13 as well as cheerleaders between the age of 4 and 14 are invited to participate this season. Michelle Harwell is this year’s program Director. A new board has been implemented this season to include Josh Adair; Chairman, Patrick Baxter; Assistant Chairman, Brandy Bates; Secretary, Brandy Bennett; Treasurer and Public Relations, Michael Holder, Rob Inman, and Michelle Harwell. The board has been meeting since January to plan for this year.

Tommy Clark is this year’s Football Director with Michael Holder serving as his Assistant Football Director, Tommy and Michael have recruited the following coaches for this season: Jax Simanson will be the head coach for the major age division ages 10-12 he will be assisted by Brandon Clark and Justin Calvert as well as junior coach Hunter Simanson. Children must not turn 13 before December 1st. Head coach for the minor age division ages 8-9, is Justin Clark who is also serving as Equipment Manager this season. Justin will be assisted by Coach Austin Perez and junior coach Blaine Pinkley. Tommy Clark is the head coach for the peewee age division ages 5-7, he will be assisted by Michael Holder, Brent James and Zach Holder as well as junior coach Braxton Clark. Mr Ricky Duvall will be assisting all age divisions in football as needed.

Mrs. Diene Adair is this season’s Cheer Director. Brandy Bennet is returning as Assistant Cheer Director as is Brandy Bates as Cheer Coordinator for this year. Our Major Cheer Head Coach is Destiny Patterson for ages 10-14; assisted by junior coach Ally Stachulski. Diene Adair, Kenda Carter and Abby Trull will coach our minor division ages 8-10 assisted by Alma Cogdill. The peewee age division 5-7 year olds will be coached by Chelsey Seiber and Jennifer Cogdill assisted by Shelby King and junior coach Layla Pitts. And finally this year’s mascot squad age 4 will be coached by Morgan Treadwell assisted by junior coach Abby Vaughn. Amber Wonsor will be assisting all age divisions in tumbling this season.

This season our program is blessed with volunteers. Mrs Tracy Gilmore will serve as our gate manager, Mrs. Dottie Cortez will be our point of contact within the program for fundraising, Mrs. Kelly Clark and Kim Holder assisted by Shelby King will head up Spirit and Homecoming. And Sabrina and Jr Pitts will run concessions.

Sign ups began May 20th and to date approximately 100 children have signed up so far but it’s not too late since ups will continue through July 20th please check out, like and follow this year’s Facebook page at 2024 Lewis County Jr Pro Panthers for more information. Our cheerleading and football camp will be held June 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st 6-8pm at the Lewis County Ballpark. Camp is open to the public for any age participating children who may be interested. Fundraisers have already began and will continue this Saturday with our Incrediball tournament Saturday June 15th and throughout our season. We have established our 501c3 and are happy to provide any needed donation receipts for tax purposes.

Our official season kicks off July 22nd and continues through year end banquet after participation in the South Central Area Fair annual Christmas parade. This years cheerleading competition will be held in Dickson October 26th followed by football play offs and Super Bowl organized by Tri-County Jr Pro youth football and cheerleading. Practices are held at the Lewis County Ballpark Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and some Fridays as needed 6-8 pm. Games are held on Saturdays. Home games will be played at the Lewis County Middle School and away games vary based on locations of opposing teams within middle Tennessee.
