Q-Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

A-I retired after 21 Years in the Army. I am a currently a student at TCAT Hohenwald. I serve as the Veterans Service Officer for Lewis County and as the Commander for our Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1814. I am also a member of the American Legion, Fred E. Lomax Post 127.

Q-Where did you grow up?

A-Hohenwald, TN.

Q-What is one of your fondest childhood memories?

A-Hitting my first home run in Dixie Youth Baseball. It was a walk off homer and we won 9-8. Our only win in two years, lol.

Q-What did you want to be as a kid? What did you actually become?

A-As a child, I always played with G.I. Joe action figures. I wanted to become a United States Marine. I somehow, attempted to join when I was like 8 or 9. The Marines mailed me a letter thanking me for wanting to join, but I would have to wait until I was at least 17. I eventually joined the U.S. Army as an Infantryman, and retired as a Sergeant First Class.

Q-Who was/is your biggest role model?

A-My Dad.

Q-What are some of your favorite hobbies/how do you like to spend your free time?

A-I still like to collect military themed action figures and vehicles. In enjoy cooking/grilling/smoking food for others. I enjoy having football watch parties.

Q-If you could go anywhere in or out of the states, where would it be? Why?

A-I would like to visit Ireland and Scottland as that is where my ancestors are from.

Q-What is "your" song?

A-"You Should be Here" by Cole Swindell.

Q-What is your favorite things about living in Hohenwald?

A-The people and the scenery.

Q-What is your favorite time of the year? Why?

A-Fall in Tennessee is perfect. The cooler temperatures, the colors of the leaves, and "Its Football Time, in Tennessee".

Q-What do you enjoy most about your job?

A-Taking care of our Veterans and working to get them their maximum benefit that they are entitled to receive, for their service to our nation.

Q-Do you have a nick name?

A-"Slam" Duncan.

Q-If you could spend one day as a TV character, who would it be?

A-"Josh Gates" from Expedition Unknown.
