Smokey the Bear visits Library

Lewis County Public Library and Archives enjoyed a visit from Smokey Bear and his friends from the TN Forestry Department on June 18th. They shared the story of how Smokey became the spokes-bear for wildfire safety across the United States. Everyone learned the five rules of fire safety, and how they can help if they see a fire – tell an adult! Every child received stickers, fidget toys, and coloring books from Smokey.

Thank you TN Forestry Department for visiting our story time and letting us visit Smokey! We promise to always be careful with fire, never play with matches, always watch the campfire, and to make sure the fire is completely out before leaving it. Remember, only you can stop wildfires.

The library's next Tuesday Morning Story Time will be on Tuesday, July 2nd at 10 AM, at the library.
