Justin Carroll

Justin Roy Carroll, a cherished son, husband, friend, and nurse, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, in Columbia, at the age of 40. Born on January 12, 1984, in Lawrenceburg, Justin was a beam of light in the lives of all who knew him.

A true family man, Justin was predeceased by his loving mother, Louan Gray Carroll, and his maternal grandparents, Roy, and Imogene Gray, and Grandfather James Carroll. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Brittany Galloway Carroll, whom he met in high school and cherished every moment with. He also leaves behind to carry on his memory, his father, Jerry Carroll, and his wife Leah, his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Carroll, along with his mother and father-in-law, Pat and Michael Galloway, who will all miss his warm presence. Justin’s life was further enriched by the companionship of his best friends, Jeff Burleson and Brett Kennedy, and his beloved fur babies, Eli, Penny, and Yul.

For 16 years, Justin dedicated his professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse with 14 of those years caring for the residents at the Life Care Center of Columbia. His colleagues and patients alike will remember him for his unwavering compassion, dedication, and genuine care he provided. Even after a long day at work, he would always wear that contagious smile that would bring joy to anyone around him.

Justin’s interests were as diverse as they were passionate. A lifelong fan of Alabama Football, he never missed a game and reveled in the excitement of college basketball. His love for sports was matched only by his love for adventure and entertainment. Disney World, Star Wars, and traveling brought him immense joy, as did playing in his high school band. Every Sunday he made sure to make time to play Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, something they will cherish having the chance to do for so long. Simple pleasures, such as a visit to Buc-ee’s store or watching his favorite movie, “A Christmas Story,” were sources of great happiness.

To know Justin was to love him. His charming and carefree personality made him a friend to many. He was an unconditional supporter, always there with a smile and an open heart. His ability to go with the flow and embrace life’s moments made him a joy to be around.

A visitation for Justin was held on Wednesday, June 19, in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service took place the following day, Thursday, June 20.

Justin’s legacy is one of love, thoughtfulness, and passion. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. We will remember a man who was not only loved by everyone but who also loved everyone in return. Justin Roy Carroll will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
