Ed Medford announced as new band director

Lewis County High School has announced Ed Medford has accepted the position of band director and music teacher for the upcoming school year. He is a graduate of Hickman County High School and Middle Tennessee State University. He's been married to Kelly Medford since 1995, and they have two "puppies," Martin and Lucy, and Murray the cat. Kelly currently serves as Graduation Coach for Volunteer State Virtual Academy after a 25-year career as a music teacher. Mr. Medford began his teaching career in 1990 with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, Wyoming and is currently a member of the Troopers Legacy Corps which performed at the 2023 Drum Corps International World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and this year at "TroopCon 24" in Casper.

Over the years, Mr. Medford's groups have earned many grand championships including several Tennessee State Championships. His groups have traveled to Washington, DC, on seven occasions, including performances for three different US Presidents. Many of his students have continued with music at the college level and several are currently band directors and professional musicians. Mr. Medford is looking forward to meeting the students and faculty of LCHS, and leading the Spirit of the High Forest Lewis County Marching Band.
