Education Update

34 LCHS seniors earned the Work Ethics Distinction. This number is up about 33% from the previous year.

About 31 students have taken advantage of the American Job Center's Working Youth opportunity. These students can work during the school day as an office helper, library worker, on the ball field, after school hours, and/or over summer break.

Regarding the construction on the new school: foundations are now complete, and the concrete crew has begun working on casting walls. The loading dock form and pour was also finished last week, as well as the formation of the auditorium stage and stairs.

The masons have increased to and maintained a labor force of about 32. They are working in Area A, in the gym, the auditorium, cafeteria, and kitchen.

Electricians and plumbers are moving forward in Area C and supporting the masons as they raise the walls, while steel workers were on-site installing beams.

Waterproofing on the exterior block was applied around the perimeter before the shortened week due to the holiday.
