HEADED TO THE WORLD SERIES! LEWIS COUNTY 8U SOFTBALL TEAM REMAINS UNDEFEATED

The Lewis County 8U Diamond Youth Softball team went undefeated during both 3rd district and state games. This all-winning journey of hard work has paid off, as these little ladies are headed to Fairview Tennessee to battle it out in the WORLD SERIES! The girls will go head-to-head with South Carolina on July 18th at 4 P.M. The coaches, teammates and families invite the community to cheer on Lewis County as they represent the State of Tennessee in the Diamond Youth Softball World Series. Jennifer McDonald recalls when girls' softball was introduced to our community in 1992. "Coach Eugene Grinder and Ms. Cherry Beckett were instrumental in bringing Dixie Softball to Lewis County, where it was utilized for the last 30 years." With numerous changes to the program, as well as a changing athletic community, Lewis County voted to make the switch to Diamond Youth and have been battling it out with other communities and teams that also made the transition. Representing Tennessee in the World Series are teammates: Addison Green, Avery Long, Bella Middleton, Cameron Thompson, Chloe Creasy, Harlan Clendenen, Julia Gibson, Kaitlynn Tripp, Maylee Hadley, Memphis Duncan, Riley Denton, and Tinley Lancaster. Coaches are Collin Lancaster, Michael Creasy, Philip Denton, and Ty Hadley. This is the first time in it's history that Lewis County has ever sent a softball team to the World Series. What an accomplishment ladies. We look forward to supporting your journey to the top!
