Crowd Shows Up in Record Numbers for 6th Annual Rock the Lot Event

The 6th Annual Rock The Lot was a huge success, despite the extreme heat! Over 3,700 people came out to enjoy the event, including a family reunion and a class reunion of the 1977 LCHS Senior Class. An estimated 1,500 enjoyed the family activities prior to the concert, with an even larger number arriving as the sun began to set and the temperature cooled down. Attendees came from not only surrounding counties but also as far away as Nashville and Alabama.

Local radio personality Kori Plunkett wowed the crowd with her harmonica rendition of the National Anthem, receiving lots of applause and compliments for her musical talents.

The evening's highlight was The 77 Experience Concert, with attendees dancing to the greatest hits of 1977 or simply relaxing in lawn chairs while enjoying the music. Kids had a blast on the inflatable water slides, getting balloon animals made, getting their faces painted, and taking photos at Wanda "The WanderLust Bus."

Delicious food from various food trucks and local nonprofits was available for everyone to enjoy, and attendees even had the chance to ride the City of Hohenwald's "Christmas in Hohenwald Express" train around town.

Fireworks began during the band's last song, "God Bless The USA." The stunning 20-minute display had the whole crowd cheering in excitement. Members of the audience were overheard saying that this was the best fireworks display ever held at Rock The Lot.
