Local P.D. Stays Alert, Continues to Combat Drug Activity

On June 10, 2024, at approximately 10:57 p.m., City of Hohenwald Police Department Patrolman Kalum Halfacre was patrolling near 412 East Main Street and observed a white 2002 GMC Sierra truck with dark window tint. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with the driver, Andrew Davis, 54 of Centerville, TN. While checking the percentage of window tint, Patrolman Halfacre noticed a smell of marijuana from the vehicle. While speaking with Mr. Davis, Patrolman Courter arrived and saw a bag of weed in the vehicle. Mr. Davis was detained. K9 partner Celo alerted to the driver's door area, indicating narcotics. During the search, a baggy of marijuana (22.1 grams), two baggies of methamphetamine (6.3 grams and 4.2 grams), a suboxone strip and other drug paraphernalia were seized. Mr. Davis was charged with driving while in possession of methamphetamine, methamphetamine-manufacture, deliver, simple possession/casual exchange and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
