Evelyn Marie Staggs Pigg

Evelyn Marie Staggs Pigg, a woman of love and faith, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at the age of 91, in Summertown. Born on April 20, 1933, in Hohenwald, to Ernest and Audie Mae Gray Staggs, Evelyn's life was a true testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit.

Evelyn was the cherished wife of Willard Franklin Pigg for an impressive 72 years, a union that was a shining example of commitment and affection. Together, they built a family founded on strong values and unconditional love. The proud mother of Larry (Sheila) Pigg and Jimmy (Twila) Pigg, she instilled in her children the importance of family, faith, and hard work. Her sister Louise Kindred, along with a host of nieces and nephews, will remember Evelyn for her guiding presence and unwavering support. She now joins her late siblings LB Staggs, JC Staggs, Aline Staggs, Geneva Clayton, and Ernest Staggs Jr. in eternal rest.

Evelyn's joy was multiplied through her adoring grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer) Pigg, Cassie Pigg Couch, and Lindsey (Trey) Eastland, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Caroline Pigg, Weston Pigg, Raylin Eastland, Isabella Pigg, Levi Couch, Tucker Couch, Tripp Eastland, and Tiffani Carroll. She was a constant source of love and wisdom in their lives, leaving behind cherished memories and life lessons.

Her extended family, Christy Carroll, and Donna Tucker, stood by her side, offering help and companionship throughout the years. Their presence was a comfort not only to Evelyn but also to the entire family, strengthening the bonds that held them all together.

Evelyn dedicated 35 years of her life to Gensco, where she was not only a valued employee but also a friend and mentor to many. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life to her involvement with Napier Pentecostal Church. As a devout member, she lived her faith through action, constantly praying over her family, participating in church activities, and offering her talents wherever needed.

Evelyn's interests were a reflection of her nurturing soul. She loved fiercely, expressing her care through the meals she cooked, the clothes she sewed, and the impeccable home she maintained. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in creating comfort and beauty for her loved ones. Family time was her greatest joy, a sacred space where she shared her love and imparted her wisdom.

Friends and family will remember Evelyn as a loving and faith-filled woman. Her unwavering positivity and strength were a comfort to all who knew her. She faced life's challenges with grace and emerged from them with an even stronger belief in the goodness of people and the power of prayer.
