Loretta Jane Runions

Loretta Jane Runions, born July 27, 1949, in Hohenwald, to the late Onis Oneal Hinson and Clara Belle Harris Hinson, passed away peacefully at her home in Hohenwald, on July 7, 2024, at the age of 74.

Loretta was a devout member of Garrett Baptist Church, where her faith and love for the Lord were evident to all who knew her. Her favorite sayings, "Thank You Jesus," "I Love You More," and "Can I Keep You," reflected her warm, loving spirit. Despite her disabilities, Loretta's resilience and positivity were an inspiration to many.

She is survived by her sons, Sam Wheeler and Bill Meigs of Ashland City, and Phillip Wheeler, daughter Melissa Whitehead; her siblings, brother Malcolm (Amy) Hinson of Summertown, sister Teresa Kenyon, sister Brenda (David "Red") Clift of Ethridge, sister Shirley (Ron) Coffman, sister Rebecca (Kenneth) Miller, and sister Sandra Brewer; as well as two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Loretta was preceded in death by her father, Onis Oneal Hinson; mother, Clara Belle Harris Hinson; husband, Freddie Runions; daughter, Laura Wheeler; and brother, Danny Hinson.

A memorial service will be held on July 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Garrett Baptist Church.
