Dennis Wayne Nance

July 10, 1950 - July 12, 2024

Dennis Wayne Nance, age 74, of Waynesboro, passed away on July 12, 2024. Dennis was born in Hohenwald, the son of the late Oliver Evans and Wanda Sue Wilson Nance.

Dennis retired from the Wayne County Board of Education, where he served as a Driver's Education teacher, special education teacher, and a School Bus driver. Beyond his professional commitments, Dennis enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, and attending auctions.

However, what truly set Dennis apart was his generous spirit. He found fulfillment in assisting the elderly - whether it was accompanying them to medical appointments, helping with groceries, or simply offering companionship through regular check-ins.

Dennis was also a member of Ray's Chapel Baptist Church and the retired teacher's association.

He is survived by his son, Joshua Nance (Jeannie) of Waynesboro; his daughters, Donna Eaves (Ken) of Clifton; and Gabrielle Turner (Jamey) of Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Matthew Eaves, Kolby Eaves, DeLana Brashier, Makayla Daniel, Hunter Nance, Skylie Holcombe, and Bristol Turner; great grandchildren, Easton, Kamdyn, Averett, Damon, AdeLynn, and River; and aunt, Connie Kelley (Don) of Tupelo, Mississippi.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Connie and Maude Shaw Wilson, and Robert and Lemer Evans Nance.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial followeed in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisted the family.

Pallbearers will be Brent Littrell, Thomas Edwards, Parker Greenwood, Phillip Berry, Derrick Winnett, and Evan Brashier.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Ray's Chapel Baptist Church- c/o Linda Griggs-424 Stockard Street, Waynesboro, TN, 38485.
