Level Up

While Hulon's been out fishing, we've been running around like headless chickens trying to figure this newspaper thing out! Just kidding. Hulon would never leave us like that. In fact, he desires to see the newspaper last through the ages, as we do. When he was approached by other buyers about purchasing the Lewis County Herald, I thought it was over for me. Each had more experience in news, print, finances, and the business in general. What they didn't have, though, was a deep-rooted love and connection to our great community. Lewis County, Tennessee. So, when he said "yes" to me, I felt like I had won the lottery. Being given an opportunity to carry my hard-work-ethic (thanks, mom and dad), my heart for the community, and passion for truth and justice, felt like the step I had been trying to reach for so long.

I appreciate being able to "level up" in this way, but life, I believe, should always be a level up situation. Every single moment is an opportunity to do so. Look for the knowledge to be obtained, even in "mistakes" and less-than-desirable circumstances. Look for the reason and purpose. Ask yourself, "Why am I in this moment?" In doing so, you'll never fail. You'll grow. And grow. And grow.
