UDC hosts Award Ceremony

Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy(R) hosted a Meritorious Service Award Ceremony on Thursday, August 8th, 2024.

Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy(R) hosted a Meritorious Service Award Ceremony on Thursday, August 8th, 2024.

Recipients of the Award were Private Lindy Neal Hester; United States Army; and Private Arthur Davison Hester, Fourth United States Army. Both are great-great nephews of Captain James Monroe Davidson, Compaby B, 14th Regiment, Arkansas, CSS.

The Meritorious Service Award was established at the 108th General Convention in 2001 in Columbia, South Carolina. It is a testimonial to individuals in the United States Armed Forces or The United States Space Program who are collateral descendants of worthy Confederate Soldiers or Sailors; or, who are lineal or collateral descendants of Confederate Civil Service workers or who provided Material Aid to the Confederate Cause.
