Lewis County High School "ROAR Store": Empowering Students Through Hands-On Learning

The ROAR Store is a student-run enterprise that is making waves both within the school and the community. Operated by students involved in the School-Based Enterprise (SBE) Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. The Digital Printing Class and ROAR Store is a hub for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Trina Weaks, CTE Supervisor, says, "students are not just learning about marketing: they are living it. From designs to managing the production process, these young entrepreneurs are gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of running a business." The digital printing class received specialized training in the spring and specializes in Direct to Film (DTF) prints and transfers, offering a wide variety of custom Panther gear that reflects the pride and spirit of the school.

"We wanted to give our students a real-world experience that goes beyond the classroom, "said Tracy Tenison. "This project allows them to apply their creativity, knowledge, skills, and see the tangible results of their hard work."

The ROAR Store will be a prominent presence at all high school sporting events, ensuring that fans can easily get their hands on the latest Panther gear. In addition to sporting events, the store will be open during lunch hours and throughout the school day, making it convenient for students, staff, and community members to show their support for Lewis County High School.

For those who can't make it to the store in person, orders can be placed through Tracy Tenison at the high school or via Parent Square, the school's communication platform.

"This isn't just about selling merchandise," Weaks and Tension added. " It's about building a sense of community, fostering school spirit, and giving our students the skills they need to succeed in the future."

The ROAR Store is more than just a place to buy school gear, it's the power of hands-on-learning and the huge potential of Lewis County High School's students. Be sure to support them at upcoming events and proudly wear your Panther pride!

They encourage the community to follow them on Facebook at LCHS Digital Printing and Designs to stay in the loop on all the latest designs!
