Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

updated information and a peek inside Hohenwald's newest housing community

With move-in dates of Hohenwald's newest housing community being pushed back, we continue to receive several calls asking for more information. With that, the Lewis County Herald received updated information from the on-site property manager, Andrea Burnsed, who has been managing properties for 25 years.

According to Burnsed, the new complex, Walden Crest Apartment Homes, owned by Hohenwald Estates, is an income restricted community, and the costs are different than what were originally given to the Lewis County Herald, as well as to Lewis County Mayor Jonah Keltner.

A one bedroom is $733 per month, two bedrooms $877, and three bedrooms are $995. The rent amounts do not include utilities, which are electricity and water. Security deposits start at $300 and can go up to $500. The homes come supplied with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. And while all units have full size washer/dryer hook-ups, they are not supplied with those appliances.

Amenities accessible 24/7 to all residents include: Fitness Center, Computer Center, Pavilion with Picnic Tables and Grill Access, and Playground. Although not operational 24/7, there will also be a Clubhouse Facility usable by residents for private functions, by appointment, for no charge after paying security deposit. The application must be completed in person, and the fee is $35 per adult.

Currently, they are still calling from the wait list and are able to call most people back within 2-3 weeks of being added. They encourage everyone to call or stop by the complex with any questions.

Ahead of the official move-in date, Burnsed had this to say, "My name is Andrea Burnsed and I was hired to serve Lewis County as the on-site Property Manager for Walden Crest Apartment Homes. To say I am enthusiastic about housing is an understatement. To put it simply, I love what I do. Not a lot of people get to say that but I say it often and I mean it. If you are reading this and have a need for housing or you just have questions. I want to talk to you! If I don't know the answer to your question, I will find out the answer.
