Yo joe depot cuts ribbon on local toy store

The Hohenwald/Lewis County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Yo Joe Depot, a collectible toy store in downtown Hohenwald, on Thursday, August 28th.

Founded by James Kowalski and his wife Elissa, Yo Joe Depot first opened its doors to the public on March 9, 2024. With over 20 years of experience in the collectible toy business, James envisioned creating a store specializing in both modern and vintage toys, action figures, and collectibles. Since its opening, the store has been warmly received by the community, attracting steady traffic and many repeat customers.

"Twenty something years ago," recalled James, "I got rejuvenated with toys. I had cool stuff as a kid, and it was something I wanted to get back into, so I started researching and buying things. I'd resell those to purchase even larger things, and I built a collection. Twenty some years, lots of shows and collections later, I built it into a store."
