Newly established 'Lewis county prevention and intervention coalition' receives initial funds

On Thursday, August 22, Catherine Brunson, the president of Strategic Initiatives with Prevention Alliance of Tennessee (PAT) presented a $10,000 check to Lewis County Prevention and Intervention Coalition.

"The Prevention Alliance of Tennessee is delighted to contribute this donation, supporting ongoing efforts to establish a prevention coalition aimed at addressing the impact of substance use in Lewis County", said Brunson. The Prevention Alliance is a network of over 60 coalitions that fosters collaboration and leverages resources to enhance environmental strategies and targeted statewide services in the fields of substance use prevention and public health. PAT Coalitions implement data-driven and evidence-based programs across the state, helping build Tennessee's capacity to create stronger, healthier communities, families and individuals.

The newly formed Lewis County Prevention and Intervention Coalition's mission is to foster a healthy lifestyle for all by educating, raising awareness, strengthening partnerships, and encouraging community involvement in the prevention of substance use and substance use disorder.
