Pets and their people

Here are some more interesting facts about our K9 companions. Did you know…”that K9’s have color vision…that’s right!, it’s true. However, it’s limited to blue-violet, yellow-green spectrum, and shades of gray. Blue and yellow are very clear to our K9 friends. (Martin and Martin)

Did you know…”that K9’s have a wider field of view compared to us. Canines have a 245 degree field while people have 180 degree field, therefore their peripheral vision is much better. However, their depth perception is more limited in dogs. They also can see well in dim light, but their visual clarity is poor. It is only 20/75 vs people at 20/20”. (Martin and Martin)

Did you know…”Seeing eye dogs through selective breeding have visual clarity closer to 20/20 and their vision can decline with age” just like ours. (Martin and Martin)
