Junior Pro Panthers sweep Houston

On a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon, the Lewis County Junior Pro Panthers delivered a commanding performance, besting the visiting Houston County Fighting Irish in all three games on the Lewis County Middle School field in beautiful downtown Hohenwald.

PEE-WEES

The Pee-Wees evened their season record at 2-2 with a dominating 8-0 victory over the Fighting Irish. Steele Carroll spearheaded the Panthers’ rushing attack with 58 yards and a touchdown. When asked about the team’s progression, Line Coach Brandon Launius responded “The kids have really responded well to the fundamentals and teamwork we have taught them as a coaching staff.” He then highlighted the performances of offensive linemen Easton Reeves, Micah Conforti, and Collins in creating opportunities for the run game.

The defensive effort was led by the duo of Kingsley Beard and Confortti, who combined for over 13 tackles. Carroll recorded a sack, and Sam Launius and Tatum Perez added several tackles.

MINORS

The Minors notched their first win of the season with a dominating 6-0 performance, improving their record to 1-3.

The Panthers relied on the formidable ground game of Jaxon Brothers, who amassed 100 yards on 15 carries, with Landyn Stanger chipping in 75 yards on 12 carries.

Defensively, Bentley Hensley tallied 6 tackles, and Travis Vaughan added 3 tackles and a QB sack.

MAJORS

The Major Panthers dominated the Fighting Irish in all aspects of the game, securing a commanding 26-8 victory and bringing their season record to 2-2.

The rushing attack was led by Brayden Downs with 75 yards, accompanied by Huntley Bates’ 40 yards and a touchdown. Remington Ellis and Corey Simanson added 45 and 20 yards respectively. Donavin James and Jacob Mathes had good receiving games, while Ayden Stanger added a 2-point conversion.

Defensively James had a QB sack with a forced fumble that resulted in a turnover.
